1st at $20/750ml this is good value and surprising good, at a 4. The reason I tried it because someone on this app said it is better than Jim Beam Single Barrel. Agree. Add a cube of ice if you want to soften the burn. It’s a balance of sweet and spicy, mint balanced with smoky oak. I bought it to give my father-in-law instead of Wild Turkey Rare Breed, it’s that good and 1/2 the price.

Unusual and interesting. It’s good. But, probably not a regular “go to” whiskey.

Nose wasn’t easy for me to distinguish, maybe vanilla, and the initial sip seemed spicy and oaky verses fruity and sweet as described in the expert’s notes. Cinnamon and vanilla were easier to taste than raspberry and honey. Finish is moderate and leaves tongue fairly quickly. Yeah it’s good- although for the same price I’d buy Jim Beam Single Barrel or Henry McKenna 10 yr 100 proof bonded. And if you’re okay spending a bit more, then buy Baker 7yr or Wild Turkey Rare Breed.

A true bourbon. All the right flavors and nice warm finish

One of the best that you can actually find. Wow! The Heat is all there at 116 proof, and I like it. Smoky, spicy, and vanilla flavors are well balanced and rich. So easy to sip and I like the mint, unusual bourbon note, but adds to the ride. IMO it’s almost a 5

Hint of smoky oak is quickly overtaken by the sweet, vanilla, and herbal notes. It’s easy to sip on ice and make a smooth cocktail. I’m a fan of wheated bourbon, such as Weller, and Makers Mark is a readily available option in this category.

I’m new to Russell’s Reserve, but it’s compares well to other 90+ higher proof bourbons. This spicy 110 proof single barrel lights up your tongue but melts away with a long good bye. Add a lil’ water if too much heat. I like the like flavor of the 10 year too, smooth and less heat.

107! with a spicy kick, this bourbon is top shelf, great to sip and yet strong enough to get your attention. If it were just a bit more oily, then it would be perfect IMO. Nice blend of flavor.

I don’t know, it’s a balance bourbon, and easy to sip, but if you prefer oak, smoke, spicy favors then you might be disappointed. At 82 proof, it could also use more of a punch. IMO it’s a pass and was overrated by the expert.

This is a rare and really good bourbon, almost as exceptional as the 12 yr. Buy as many bottles as you can find. Absolutely can’t go wrong with anything of the Weller bourbons. These bourbons are made at the same distillery as Papa Van Winkle...so
