The best blended whisky to date. So complex yet so smooth. Rich honey on the nose with subtle briney peat (subtly Talisker-esque) with slight green fruits (pear/apple). On the palate, quite malty progressing to dark chocolate/cocoa. The subtle peat lingers with slight leather. The finish? A gradual controlled crescendo of vanilla cream and a peppery, spiced cinnamon finish. A heartwarming drawn out finish with gradual warming of the chest. An amazing blend. So much complexity yet so well directed and steered fron start to finish.

Starward Two-Fold Double Grain
Other Whiskey — Victoria , Australia
Reviewed June 29, 2019 (edited January 31, 2020)Not the strongest on the nose, but the complexity of the palate makes up for this: tones of dried fig and ripe banana. A very sweet offering progressing to an Everest of toffee before a long drawn out finish of creaming soda. Another interesting unexpected offering from the Melbourne-based distillery. -
Starward Nova Single Malt
Single Malt — Victoria, Australia
Reviewed June 29, 2019 (edited July 19, 2019)My first try of not just an Australian Whisky but one distilled in Melbourne. Can definitely tell this one's finished in a red wine cask from nose and finish. Reminds me of Yamazaki with red berries on the nose. Floral and white chocolate palate, with a slight spiced and red wine finish. Interesting.
