Ichiro's Malt & Grain
Blended — Multiple Countries
Reviewed January 29, 2019 (edited January 30, 2019)Light straw color. Buttered pear on the nose. First sip is sweet, hot and a little spicy. Wood notes, albeit faint, present themselves only after several sips. The mouthfeel is lightly creamy. This whisky is an interesting pour with plenty of flavor. It comes across as “young and feisty”, which isn’t necessarily bad...just not at this price point.85.0 USD per BottleMammography Education Inc -
Old Forester 1897 Bottled In Bond
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 21, 2019 (edited September 23, 2019)A dark reddish-copper in color. Corn oil and dark fruits on the nose on first pour. Later nosings produce a cream soda vibe. The flavor profile has a unique, zesty tang to it. Mildly sweet with a big, musty oak finish. The mouthfeel is not oily, but medium-soft with a nice lingering burn at the back sides of the throat. As it sits, especially in colder surroundings, the mouthfeel becomes thick and lightly gelatinous. A couple drops of water gives the pour a creamier mouthfeel, but doesn’t seem to add anything to the flavor profile. A solid bourbon. 3.9.Mammography Education Inc -
Corn-forward with some heat and cologne accents on the nose. The flavor profile is very understated with an extremely short, woodless backend. Wood and white pepper spice is dominant at the front end and hits you right away on the roof of your mouth. Further tastes start to display some wood and a subtle tangy citrus aftertaste. The mouthfeel is right in the middle, neither thin nor thick and buttery. I must say, this one didn’t start out well for me. However, after giving it some time, I’ve come to find it quite pleasant. It’s not flashy, but it’s got the potential to be someone’s favorite daily-drinker.Mammography Education Inc

The nose has a nice musty, smokey/peaty scent. The flavor profile is pretty intense. Sweet and extremely woody with plenty of smoke. It finishes with a pleasant musty/rotting wood accent. My favorite part of this pour is the silky smooth, almost buttery, soft-yet-thick mouthfeel. My mouth retains a beautiful smoked agave essence well after the burn has subsided. 4.15.11.0 USD per PourJalapeño Inferno

Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year Bourbon (107 Proof)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 18, 2019 (edited January 19, 2019)Golden copper in color. Pear juice and light butterscotch on the nose. A beautifully-balanced, sweet, fruity, oaky, light-cola flavor profile. The mouthfeel on this is incredible. Soft and fluffy. I’m honestly surprised at how much I’m enjoying this one given the hype that surrounds the Pappy line. A super-solid bourbon.25.0 USD per PourLa Bocca Wine Bar & Urban Kitchen -
George T. Stagg Bourbon (Fall 2018)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 18, 2019 (edited January 19, 2019)Brownish-copper color. Rum-soaked cherries, brown sugar, wine-soaked cork, vanilla, citrus, you name it...It’s all in there on the nose. The mouthfeel is soft and full with plenty of dark fruits, citrus and musty wood for a flavor profile. Further tastes become oilier and exhibit more citrus on the backend. Definitely play with adding a couple drops of water. The flavor profile blossoms and becomes even more fruit-forward.26.0 USD per PourHigh & Rye -
Boone County Eighteen33 Straight Bourbon 10 Year
Bourbon — (bottled in Kentucky), USA
Reviewed January 12, 2019A nice dark-reddish copper color. This one has a really nice nose. Dark fruit, wood spice and sweet corn dominate an intense aroma that has my expectations high. The flavor profile is not as intense as the nose would suggest, but still quite nice. A soft mouthfeel is supported by vanilla, oak and the same sweet fruit profile I was nosing. This one is best without water as it dilutes an already-balanced, lower ABV (46%) bourbon. 3.95.Mammography Education Inc -
Brown sugar, vanilla, corn, floral perfume, mild oak and a bit of spiciness on the nose. First sip is heavy with white pepper spice but calms down to reveal some vanilla, citrus and old leather with a subtle oak finish. A couple drops of water manages the spice well, softens the mouthfeel and adds some tea leaf and brown sugar notes.Mammography Education Inc
