GlenDronach Original 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed April 11, 2015 (edited December 19, 2015)Sherry cask whiskies aren't my favorite, but this has a good flavor that sticks around for a bit. Not a great scotch, but I would buy again. On second taste, I think I really like this stuff! Great fruit kick early from the sherry cask, slow, mild burn. Spicy, ginger finish that I really dig. Upping to four stars. -
Russell's Reserve Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 11, 2015 (edited February 18, 2018)I'm picky about giving away five stars, but this is damn close. Great flavor, a lot of spice, and a taste that doesn't run away right after finishing your sip. I'll likely never have a point where a bottle of this isn't on my shelf. It'd be a good buy at twice the price.
