Highland Park 12 Year
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed January 2, 2019 (edited April 10, 2019)One of the key 12 year old scotches I like to refer to this as a baseline to compare others as it is a little peaty and a little sweet and little fruity and little floral so if you like one component more than the others seek it out in other whiskeys this is a jack of all trades scotch delicious but master of none great starter whiskey for getting into peaty scotch. -
At under 30 cad there are a few whiskeys I like Gibson’s 12 Paddy’s Cutty shark Jameson is buttery sweet vanilla goodness but tastes young and has a rough finish I like paddy’s finish better and the smoothness of Gibson 12 better excellent disitillery and have an excellent tour in Dublin.26.0 CAD per Bottle

Black barrel has a lot of flavour for an Irish whiskey I love the sherry like fruit and slight smoke but has a little burn and finish is a little medicinal interestingly enough the barrel pull from the distillery at cask strength is one of my favourite whiskeys ever! Like stout and crested more and for $20 more greenspot is amazing

Glenmorangie Signet
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 2, 2019 (edited March 28, 2019)One of the few Scotches made with roasted chocolate malt so flavours of chocolate, latte espresso really come out but there is a light dried fruit in there not too sweet smooth and not too complex but one of my favourite flavour profiles!250.0 CAD per Bottle
