Highland Park 18 Year
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed December 10, 2014 (edited July 12, 2015)Stephanie's review is spot on. Though there's quite a bit of variance across HP vintages, this particular bottling (2014) is stunning—wonderfully creamy, toffee- and barley-rich. If you can afford the $120 or so for a bottle, I'd strongly recommend picking one up. -
Connemara Original Peated Single Malt
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed December 8, 2014 (edited August 26, 2015)Though I tend to favor peated single malts, this one swiftly dashed my high hopes. The dram initially tasted of bogwater, though time and additional water did improve things a bit. I think Ryan's review to be unduly generous, but perhaps others' personal tastes are more in line with his. I'd simply suggest sampling before purchasing. -
