Glenglassaugh Evolution
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 28, 2020 (edited November 24, 2020)Smell is buttery barley. Taste is butter, oak, spice, that then transforms completely and drastically into peppery ripe banana. Never seen a whisky transform in my mouth like that. Finish is long and tingly, with some more fruit and pepper. Scratch that, the pepper is still there. It never goes away. How interesting. -
Ichiro's Malt & Grain
Blended — Multiple Countries
Reviewed July 28, 2020 (edited February 28, 2021)The smell is divine. A peach cobbler. Vanilla, brown sugar, mmm. Taste is deep, with a forward scotch flavor that opens up into Carmel, vanilla, and oak sweetness. Finish is medium and sweet. -
WhistlePig The Boss Hog 六: The Samurai Scientist
Rye — Canada
Reviewed July 28, 2020 (edited January 6, 2022)Outstanding. Retains the rye spice, but the umeshu mellows it out so it's smooth with almost no heat. Starts off with an outstanding smell of roasted marshmellows, then comes on with vanilla, oak, spicy flavors that longer forever. Most original whiskey I've ever tasted. -
Uncle Nearest 1856 Tennessee Whiskey (Sourced Whiskey)
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed July 27, 2020 (edited August 6, 2020)Spicy oak smell. Beautiful medium brown color. Taste is so pure, tons of spices (nutmeg, clove, cinnamon), with some Carmel and oak in there. Exactly what a Tennessee whiskey should be.
