Nose is floral and fruity, orange bursts, apples, apricots, golden raisins. Honey. Tasty is incredibly light, barely notice you're sipping at first, followed by a bit of spice zing and all the honey and fruit from the smell. Ends with a strange flavor that reminds me of the monkey shoulder I tried months ago but still can't put my finger on the name of the flavor. It's off putting.

Papa's Pilar Dark Rum
Dark Rum — Multiple Countries
Reviewed December 28, 2020 (edited September 12, 2021)Nose is a lot of butterscotch, followed by dark chocolate, vanilla, littllleeee bit of coffee. Flavor follows the sweet butterscotch smell, then a lot of dark spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, clove), the dark chocolate comes out. Ends with the dry tannin flavor of the sherry, but pretty subtle. Not a long longer. -
Glenmorangie Nectar D'or 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 17, 2020 (edited December 4, 2020)Very good stuff. Nose is very light with grape and apricot coming through. Palate is the same, but add in some brown spice and vanilla. Smooth, long finish. Little sweet, can definitely taste all of the wine cask. Good stuff. -
Honestly what the hell is that forward surprise flavor? Taste like... The smell of sweaty gym clothes. I think it's just a weird taste bud thing for me as I'm guessing no one else is tasting it. Sucks because the nose is wonderful: lots of red fruits and grape, bit of spice and dryness. But then that gym flavor just slaps me on the face. And an incredible dryness that I like. I'm confused.

Glenmorangie Lasanta Sherry Cask Finish 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed October 17, 2020Damn I do enjoy a well done sherry cask finish. Nose is dry, raisin, brown spices. Taste is raisin cream, sherry, some light brown spices. a pleasant dry mouth feel. very mellow. Good stuff. -
Smells like a bourbon. Tastes like a bourbon. I like bourbon. They just have aged this in some very used bourbon barrels, as the bourbons flavors are very present. Caramel, oak, vanilla. The molasses flavor is actually in the background. Bit of brown spice spiciness that nicely lingers. It's barely a rum, but I like it.
