High West High Country American Single Malt (2022 Release)
American Single Malt — Utah, USA
Reviewed February 9, 2023Nose: Earthy, chocolate malt, light smoke Palate: light chocolate malt, gentle spice, thin body Finish: light nougat and chocolate malt, like a whopper candy I think they’re working on it. I’m not a big chocolate note guy, but at least it’s subtle. It’s good to switch up the palate. -
Bull Run American Whiskey Aged 14 Years, Finished in Pinot Noir Casks
Other Whiskey — Oregon and Indiana (MGP), USA
Reviewed February 7, 2023 (edited February 13, 2023)I wasnt sure about this at first, but after it’s been open a while, it is awesome. Very unique. On the palate, I get - and you’re not going to believe this - strawberry milk. Sweet, rich with a little oak presence. Very cool. -
Chattanooga Whiskey 99 Rye
Rye — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed February 4, 2023 (edited November 16, 2023)Super sweet and vibrant. Like a rich cherry pie. Super fruit forward and bright. A bit of grain influence shows on the palate, but hardly at all. Kind of gives me grapefruit vibes with that tartness. Delicious. -
Fresh crack. First pour. Nose: pecan praline, light wood/sawdust, subtle butterscotch Palate: rich, rich spice. Almost pure baking spice. Warm coffee cake. Finish: Warm pretzel with salt. Churro with vanilla ice cream. Looong finish. This one tastes like a spice cabinet - shelves and all. Tons of wood influence with these vibrant spice notes. Would have like a little something else like fruit or caramel, but it is good. Edit* - As this opened up, I get lots of coconut and maybe crème brûlée. Definitely into this.

Ragged Branch Wheated Bourbon Twice Barrelled Bottled in Bond
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed January 20, 2023Pretty difficult to put down. Some obvious wood influence with astringent wheat notes. Not my thing.
