Sweet with a brown sugar spice at the end. Surprisingly good.

Super indulgent. Like a mouth full of brown sugar. Like caramel in dark chocolate. Very tannic.

Tons of spice on this, especially on the palate. It is tasty, but may need to open up just a bit more.

95/5 rye. For some reason, that 5% really shows in the finish. The taste is pure bread with some light fruity notes, almost like cranberry or raisins.

Pretty delicate. There is some grain presence there with some light maltiness. Very faint finish. A safe option for a flagship option for a brand.

On a first crack, this is huge, complex flavor. A definitely mixture of spice and sweetness that jump back and forth. Tons of wood. This one worth contemplating.

A little thin. Has almost a metallic palate that you may get from a copper pot whisky. I’m not getting a strong note beyond that.

Fruity and indulgent. I get a strong raisin note, which I usually get from fruit-forward, finished whiskeys. This is a great pour, but if you are like me and trying to discern whether it’s worth opening your bottle of this discontinued product, I would save it and get one of high west’s finished picks. A manhattan pick I have now hits very similar notes, and I am reassured knowing I can find it again.

Nice, mellow flavor with that hint of Turkey funk and spice. Great value for the price.
