Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch A119
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 4, 2020 (edited July 21, 2020)Wow this stuff is hot but that is obviously to be expected. Surprisingly I didn’t get a ton of alcohol on the nose but it quickly made its appearance when I took my first sip. This stuff is packed with flavor and absolutely delicious but in my opinion, batch B519 edges it out! -
Rúa American Single Malt
American Single Malt — North Carolina, USA
Reviewed April 3, 2020 (edited April 16, 2022)Very good stuff! Tried it for the first time at a bar in Charlotte and then walked a mile to the nearest liquor store to buy a bottle to bring home. I was on a work trip, don’t judge me!! -
Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Straight Rye
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 3, 2020 (edited April 22, 2020)Very good overall. I do think there are better bargains out there for Rye’s but this is a delicious addition to my stash. I’m still really happy with my purchase!69.99 USD per Bottle -
Parker's Heritage Heavy Char Rye Whiskey 8 Year
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 2, 2020 (edited May 20, 2021)Letting this open up for a few minutes did it wonders and the higher ABV along with the kick of the rye gives it a nice little punch! I tend to prefer barrel proofs anyway so this is right up my alley. The good part is sometimes when a whiskey packs some heat the flavor is lost which is not the case here. I found the finish to be very long and lingering which I was really impressed with. It may be hard to justify the price tag because you can get multiple other bottles of great stuff at this price point but I do feel this one is unique enough and still a winner in my book! Would I go grab another bottle at this price, probably not, but I don’t regret adding it to my collection. Either way, I thoroughly enjoyed this pour!149.95 USD per BottleDamon's Beverage and Redemption -
Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Strength Tennessee Whiskey
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed March 19, 2020 (edited November 2, 2020)The nose on this reminds me of walking through the rickhouses on my trip to Kentucky. The bottle I got is from Rick L-2 and is at 68% ABV. As it tilted the glass back, the nose turned a little more sweet with stronger caramel notes. The palate was delicious and it was surprisingly smooth, virtually no alcohol burn. The finish could have been a little longer but overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase!61.8 USD per BottleUS Air Force Base Exchange
