Talisker 10 Year
Single Malt — Islands, Scotland
Reviewed November 30, 2020 (edited December 10, 2020)This is my first pleated whisky. I got the smaller bottle since I’m not sure if I will like it. It’s by far the most complex whisky I have tried. The first opening notes are smoked meat, bacon, and then the peat comes through. I finally know what is peat scent! To me it’s not u pleasant, but unique. Then sweet scents like fruits and even dessert comes in, it’s a but hard to tell underneath the peat. In the mouth is where things get interesting. It’s quite sweet, and smooth, I can detect toffee or cream, with a hint of floral, but that peat follows you the entire time, not overwhelming, but it’s definitely there. It’s quite smooth and some spin dines kicks in after swallowing. Interesting. I will need to come back to it to see how I feel about this one over time. -
Grangestone Highland Single Malt Rum Cask Finish
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed November 30, 2020Was not too hopeful with this one, but it’s a fairly pleasant surprise. It’s sweet in the mouth feel and a nice earthy finish. Definitely a decent single malt scotch. May buy some for drinking later. -
Glenfiddich 12 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed November 30, 2020 (edited December 4, 2020)This is a very good whisky, not sweet, yet balanced with very yummy bourbon cask scent and sherry as well. It’s just glanced and smooth, I would bring this to a friend who’s not into sweet. I really like the taste it leaves in your mouth. Yummy21.49 USD per Bottle -
My first sherry cask whisky, and it does not disappoint. Im so glad I got this, it shows the distinguishable nice flavor from sherry cask, mellow yet sweet dry fruit and nuts, pleasantly sweet in the taste, very smooth with a great finish of spice. The after swallow taste is clean and delicious. It’s going to be a top shelf for me for sure.

My goodness this is delicious. Smells similar to Glenmorangie original with sweetness and creaminess to the scent, but not as heavy. It’s got more floral tone to it. The taste is the winner, it’s smooth yet a bit spicy, but the most distinguishing is the honey/bready taste that leaves your mouth after swallow. It’s is just exhilaratingly amazing. I have a few whiskies that I really like, it nothing like this one, almost a love of first sight. It’s great. I tasted the 17yr and the Caribbean rum finish, I think 12yr is my favorite. The 17yr is a bit disappointing I have to say. Less alcohol but also more boring.

Auchentoshan 12 Year
Single Malt — Lowlands, Scotland
Reviewed November 28, 2020 (edited December 28, 2020)It’s got a distinct scent that is very jammy, not too floral in my opinion. It’s reminds me of ume. The taste is very smooth, has a bit more peat? It does not taste sweet at all. I will try to get use to it.
