Connemara Original Peated Single Malt
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed December 8, 2020 (edited March 19, 2021)This is another Irish whisky that I really like. It’s the first peated one, it’s creamy smooth, and it contains the signature winter green fresh flavor in the nose. Its peat is moderate and lovely, on the fresh side. The taste is interesting, it goes from very smooth light to flavorful, the arrival time of the flavors are delayed comparing to other whiskeys, but the flavor are there. Buttery biscuity savory note is more prominent comparing to green spot, and you can taste the fresh light peat on top of it. It’s still on the lighter side, I wish it’s bottled at a higher abv, but it’s not. It’s still a really good Irish whiskey.43.56 USD per Bottle -
Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 7, 2020 (edited March 19, 2021)This is my first bourbon and it’s a pleasant experience. This is very sweet, very vanilla note heavy and very creamy, I detected a bit more complex note, especially some floral note, and even some dirt/earthy notes. The taste is very sweet, it’s also floral fragrant, and cameral note is prominent. It’s a good comparison to have with scotch single malts.33.99 USD per Bottle -
Dunville's Very Rare 10 Year
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed December 7, 2020 (edited March 19, 2021)This is a unique Irish whiskey, comparing to my other two. It’s really fragrant and with a lovely floral note. This is a bit more similar to a scotch in my opinion as it’s stronger in taste, it’s fully flavored, it has a lot more personality. It’s stated aged 10years, which is a good plus. Flavor needs a revisit. Right now there is a lot of sweet note and a bit spicy. It’s a good one for sure.46.99 USD per Bottle -
Green Spot Single Pot Still
Single Pot Still — Ireland
Reviewed December 7, 2020 (edited March 19, 2021)Another very good Irish whiskey single malt, this is quite lovely, buttery sweet and creamy on the note, I get a bit savory in the sweetness. The taste is lighter than reebreast but I can see how these are similar to each other. I will come back to this but right now, I prefer redbreast at the moment.56.99 USD per Bottle -
Longrow Peated
Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed December 7, 2020 (edited March 19, 2021)This is a really good peated single malt, even though it doesn’t have a age statement. This has a really good peated flavor, vegetal type of peat, not dry or too smoky. The flavor is creamy and fruity sweet, not too sweet and extremely smooth. This is a keeper and highly recommended for everyone wants to try peated whisky.63.99 USD per Bottle -
Glen Scotia 12 Year
Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed December 5, 2020 (edited March 19, 2021)It’s a delicious whisky, I got it per ralfydotcome recommendation. He thinks it’s so unique that he hasn’t encountered this type of flavor profile in 15yrs. I’m not sure why because it’s got the basic good whisky notes. Smoothly sweet and delicious on the nose, lots of candy/dessert/dry fruit scents, and it’s super smooth down. It’s sweet and fragrant, crepe brûlée comes to mind as one of the dessert tastes, and it’s tasty. It’s a bit simpler of a flavor profile I suppose, but it’s quite delightful and easy to drink. It’s good stuff, not carrying much of the campelton funk like the kilkerran. I will continue to try it and see how it goes over time.69.49 USD per Bottle -
My first Irish single pot whiskey and it’s not a blunter for sure. It’s really delicious on the nose, it’s greener than most scotch whiskies, but it’s got more of a buttery savory note to it as well. Again, delicious! It’s more similar to a lowland whisky on the taste, smooth, lighter in flavor intensity but it’s packed with them. Its buttery nose carries over to the taste, it it tastes a lot spicier than the nose, not in a bad way. It’s just a bit unexpected given how smooth the rest of the flavors go. It’s pretty great stuff. I only wish it’s higher than 40% abv. It’s also a keeper.

Deanston 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 5, 2020 (edited March 19, 2021)This is a delicious highland whisky. To be fair, I have yet to know what makes a characteristic highland whisky, it this stuff is great. It’s got more fresh fruit scent in the nose (aberfeldy also has that), also, it’s more green comparing to some others. It’s delicious smelling, and just works up an appetite. On the taste, it’s also great, balanced and delicious flavors of sweet and a little bit tart, and even some bitterness. The sweet dessert and fruit taste comes in and then it’s super smooth. It’s one yummy whisky. Again, goes great with green grapes! It’s a keeper! So much better than the highland park 12.52.99 USD per Bottle -
Bladnoch 10 Year
Single Malt — Lowlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 5, 2020 (edited February 24, 2021)My favorite whisky so far! The non chill filtered quality needs to be appreciated, and ohh my the nose! It’s the scent of a sweet smoked meat, and of course, delicious yummy vanilla and cream. The meatiness of the flavor is fantastic and makes it extremely special and yummy. The mouth is surprisingly smooth for a 46.7% whisky, it’s amazingly smooth, with a little bit of tart then Ed sweet and a bit smoky, delicious stuff!52.62 USD per Bottle
