Got this from a tasting box. Definitely excited to see what that cherry wood has to offer. The nose first this is carmel green apple in a field of grass. This takes me to the fair with licorice and cotton candy notes for me. First sip definitely a bit harsh at first but opens up and translates the nose nicely. The finish is long and satisfying as this feels like a fuller rye Second sip that grassy note leads the way to a carmel candy apple with that licorice and spice on the finish. Almost as if you dropped that candy apple in the field, picked it up and took a bite. I dont hate it. Added water and it took that harsh note from the front to the midpalate. Thinned it out but also balanced it out. I could see this nice on ice. I do love rye whiskey and for me this hits the spot. I think that cherry wood helps play toward those candy notes a rye can have. Overall I would drink this again.Liquor and Wine Outlet

Bardstown Bourbon Co. Origin Series Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 4, 2024 (edited January 5, 2024)I am going through the Orgin Series Tasting Box I got on New Years. Looking forward to my first Bardstown. Nose for me goes cinnamon spice part hot tamale and and part cinnamon sugar. A sweet molasses and with a maple tannin note. Palate is thin young and spicy. Cherry aftertaste and cinnamon again. Finish is tannins and barrel char and red pepper. Overall this is not my favorite but was happy to get to try some of Bardstown. I do enjoy how a vanilla bean and carmel aroma fill the air while the glass sits and when you add water those notes get added to the palate which is nice. I like it with water or on a rock. -

N: Vanilla cake then there is tabacco and leather. P: Hot cinnamon like a hot tamale, leathery and a small amount of oak F: Short and flat. Easy drinking with a slight hint of vanilla cake -
