Tastes

N: Burnt orange peel, smoked wings, honey, other citrus, P: Sweet and citrus initially then dramatically gives you those savory smoke in the mid palate before the honey takes you into the finish F: Short but satisfying. The adventure on the palate comes to an abrupt end and has you picking up your glass once more. I use this whisky to introduce my friends to peat and have created some lifelong Highland Park Fans in the process. I am getting near the end of this bottle and it has been a pleasure having it on the shelf.

Nose:there is a spicy red pepper from the rye for me. Hay with light vanilla and and a hint of carmel. I can get a little heat on the nose from the proof. Palate: Baking spices and black pepper develops into a dark chocolate bitterness that turns straight oak. Finish: Hot and oaky. Heavy oak with a satisfying burn from the Proof. 3 drops of water Lightens the nose to more hay and vanilla extract. Takes away the black pepper and bitterness. Cools down finish less oaky bitter and more oaky sweet. I preferred it with the water. Good experience from an MGP. You might not like this if you don't like rye. Was recommended to me because its not being released again.

Nose: Butter, sweet cereal, baking spices Palate: butter, honey, spices, vanilla ice cream Finish: Long vibrant not quite a burn as much lingering feeling

Nose: Toast with butter and apple jam. Baked cinnamon apples. French toast. Delightful and sweet! Palate: Malt forward less sweet than I expected. Light almost creamy mouthfeel. Finish: Short to medium There is something missing in this whiskey but me personally I like it, I like High West and I am excited to see where they go from here with ASM. Felt that it complimented the cigar I had.

Nose: Heavy Carmel and Vanilla. Underneath that layer there is a grassy nose that reminds me of the taste of wood sorrel. Green apple skins. Palate: I want to describe this palate as Single Malt cake with Bourbon icing. I was not disappointed. Reminds me of cereal in vanilla milk too. Rich mouthfeel Finish: Assisted by the proof but not too bitey. Its a medium finish. With the price point I would buy this whiskey again. This was fighting the cigar to see who could be more dramatic.

The more I go to this whisky the more I love it Nose is sweet and savory like a barbeque rib with sauce Palate is complex with sherry and smoke, that doesn't hold back with those flavors Finish with a punch from the proof of medium length

Nose: sweet smoke, vanilla ice cream, distant sea salt Palate: savory meat berries and cream hint of tabacco. Finish: medium to long woody after taste

My first experience with this whiskey was camping in North Carolina at my first Highland Games. And that memory plays into a big part why I love this whiskey. N: PEARS! Warm syrup, honey P:Honey, hint of cinnamon. Simple, nice viscosity F: There is a spike from the proof you would not expect from 43% for a short second before it goes to a medium finish. It lingers with smallest bit of oak influence.

Nose: Medicinal Cherry Palate: has that bourbon sweetness of cherries a woody Finish: A full Sherry finish drowns the bourbon Definitely liked it. I think it was a bourbon Sherry bomb. Young of coarse.
