Four Roses Small Batch Select Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 16, 2022 (edited March 27, 2022)Nice dark rich color. Vanilla and herbal spices on nose. A dark chocolate and intense spice on front palate with leather, dark chocolate bitterness and barrel char on back end. Very nice and drinkable neat, but at 52 abv can stand up on ice and open up more without losing intensity of flavors. -
Purchased this on the recommendation from a retailer to replace a Arbelour 16 double cask that was out of stock. This was my first Japanese whisky experience. For a single grain it was not bad, but did not meet my expectations for the price point. Too much single note and no depth of flavor that I look for as a bourbon fan. Nothing on the back end that really made me want to come back for more or purchase this bottle again.70.0 USD per Bottle

Aberlour 16 Year Double Cask Matured
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed January 27, 2022 (edited April 29, 2022)The best non-bourbon scotch bourbon! Of all the scotches I’ve tried this one is by far the best I’ve ever had. Exceptional for a bourbon lover. The double cask matured liquid produces a dark caramel color, sweet tobacco nose. The double cask oak stays with you throughout the finish, but some fruitiness come though upfront. -
Starlight Carl T. Huber's Single Barrel Finished In Calvados Barrels - Binnys Pick #FB146-1
Bourbon — Indiana , USA
Reviewed January 12, 2022Dark amber color for a 4 year old whiskey. Nose is Carmel and hint of apple. The spice of the rye hits your palate immediately and intensifies to a toasted oak and vanilla. This would make a very tasty old fashioned. -
Maker's Mark Cask Strength Batch 21-01 (110.6 Proof)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 15, 2021This was batch 21-02. Good sipper for a MMCS @ 55.2 ABV. Light nose of fruits and vanilla. Big hit of spice greets the palate followed by a balance of sweetness. No real depth on the back end finish. Tried over a cube of ice, but prefer neat. Very smooth and palatable for a cask strength. -
Driftless Glen Small Batch Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Wisconsin, USA
Reviewed October 10, 2021 (edited July 12, 2022)Amber in color with thick legs! :) Nose is light but vanilla and butterscotch come through. First taste was hit by a lot of spice followed by some sweet notes of caramel that didn’t last long. Ended with oak notes and some lingering tastes of a bourbon that could have used a little more time maturing to be a great bourbon. All that said it is a very good bourbon for under $35 (33.95).33.95 USD per BottleAllcool Liquors
