Chicken Cock 8 Year Double Oak Kentucky Whiskey
Other Whiskey — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 24, 2024Disappointing for a double oak. Barely pick up any oak on the nose or palate. Very light on any other flavor profiles other than a prominent spice. Just an all around light whiskey. Not a $100+ bottle one of their most disappointing releases.99.98 USD per Bottle -
This was a father's day gift from my son. Picking up some baking spices on the palate and other spices on the finish. Theres an earthy and leather note coming through mid palate. It finishes like a rye with a spicey note at the end. The heirloom corn lends flavors more like a single malt whiskey than a typical bourbon. I keep going back for more to taste other flavors. This is an interestingly good drink.

Pleasant on the nose with sweet notes of carmel and vanilla very present upfront as expected from a wheated bourbon. Sweet notes carried through on the palate with baking spices showing up mid palate. Expected more oakiness from a 12 year old bourbon. Finish was smooth but short. Will dive in again with a few droos of water to hopefully bring out some deeper notes from this baby pappy!
