On the palate, the drink offers apricot, honeyed floral notes, a breath of vanilla, and tannic notes of the bourbon and sherry casks. The body of the dram is characterized by a rich and peppery spice with an underlying quality of oily orange rind. It finishes with a light brine and a whisper of oak. It features a gentle fire and smoke that settles pleasantly in the throat and chest. When compared to the 15 or the 18, one can detect the youth of this dram.
