Peated Single Malt — Campbeltown, ScotlandReviewed November 24, 2021Nose: musty, raspberry fruit, banana and maybe grape at the end Taste: leather, hay, smoke/peat and vanilla sweetness Finish: creamy long with some spice Big taste, as expected from this distillery. Great complexity for an older 46% ABV.
Ardbeg Dark Cove
Peated Single Malt — Islay, ScotlandReviewed October 16, 2021 (edited October 5, 2022)Nose: peat, smoke, caramel and rubber Taste: Ardbeg peat (rubber) and smoke with a balance of coffee, earth and raisin Finish: long peat and char Amazing dram. It does not get much better than this. Even at this lower ABV, amazing balance of flavors. I need to try the higher ABV version so it’s not a perfect score, but it is my highest rated and with good reason.
