    Single Malt — Islay, Scotland

    Rich salty peat and light campfire smoke, honey and sweet dark fruit. Smooth for 48% ABV. Rich and peaty, like you would expect from Lagavulin. Not as refined as the 16 year but equally as satisfying. A solid offering. $100 in Ontario.

    Honey and dark sherry sweetness, dry dark chocolate, light oak and moderate floral spice with soft peat smoke in the background. Better than the 10 year, much less peat, more depth. Still a little floral and dry for my taste. $120 in Ontario.

    Caramel, dark toasted oak, baking spices and bittersweet dark chocolate. Slightly dry. A good mid range rum. Nothing outstanding. $35 in Ontario.

    Sweet butterscotch, molasses, light oak and vanilla, bright pineapple/tropical fruit and a hint of tobacco. Light with more fruitiness and slightly more depth than your standard amber rum. A little thin to be a truly enjoyable sipper, but it’s an excellent mixer. $48 in Ontario.

    Smooth and light, slightly oily with tropical fruit punch flavours of pineapple, banana and mango, Amanda’s notes say it well. Gentle spice rounds it out and it finishes a bit dry. A decent replacement for your standard white rum. $44 in Ontario.

    Very smooth with sweet apple/apple cider, creamy wheat and soft rye spice. Super easy drinking with enough decent flavour to contemplate if you really want to, and cheap too! $30 in Ontario.

    Sweet apple/tree fruit and honey followed by comfortably warm rye spice. Easy drinking with enough spice to keep it interesting. A great mid range rye but a bit thin to compete with anything of distinction. $40 in Ontario.

    Sweet raw oak and cream soda vanilla. Decent but I wish the raw oak was aged out. Basically a more refined Dillon’s Rye. Still not one I’d buy. $35 in Ontario.

    Crisp apple, and honey sweetness followed by palatable floral spice, finishing dry. It’s one of the only Canadian single malts I’ve heard of. I think it’s fair to say it competes with equally priced single malt scotch. $74 in Ontario.
