Don Julio 1942 Tequila
Tequila Añejo — Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed May 5, 2016 (edited August 17, 2018)Very smooth. Caramelized oak, sweet agave and soft peppery spice. Not nearly as rich as other premium options but certainly very good. Significantly better than Patron’s Anejo. Not nearly as good as Cuervo’s Reserva Familia or Herradura’s Suprema. Recently increased to $170 in Ontario.170.0 CAD per Bottle -
Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye
Canadian — Manitoba, Canada
Reviewed April 22, 2016 (edited August 17, 2018)Fruity and creamy before the rye spice takes over. Like a combination of Gibson's Finest, Appleton Estate, and Bushmills. It's really does smell and taste exactly like Juicy Fruit :) Unfortunately that doesn't make for a good whisky. $35 in Ontario.35.0 CAD per Bottle -
Glenfiddich 12 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed April 20, 2016 (edited August 17, 2018)Floral/woody spice up front and throughout, refreshing apple/pear sweetness and slight hint of light smoke. A decent starter scotch. I prefer it to Glenlivet. $58 in Ontario.58.0 CAD per Bottle -
Glenlivet 12 Year Double Oak
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed April 19, 2016 (edited August 17, 2018)Fairly light and smooth, soft fruit and malt, overtaken by tobacco leaf and smoke. Very mild, but similar afterburn to Irish whiskey or rye. Light and smoky, but well rounded. Not as good as Glenfiddich. $58 in Ontario.58.0 CAD per Bottle -
Canadian Club Chairman's Select 100% Rye
Canadian — Canada
Reviewed April 16, 2016 (edited March 6, 2021)Sweet fruity young rye and fresh cut raw oak with gentle rye spice. Like Stalk & Barrel Red it tastes a little young. Like a more refined Dillion's Rye or a subtle Crown Northern Harvest Rye. $28 in Ontario.28.0 CAD per Bottle -
Herbal, floral notes with fresh oak, light vanilla and stone fruit overtaken by spice and alcohol burn that fades in intensity but leaves your tongue numb. Basically an over intensified version of Jameson, not bad but a little too floral with an slightly uncomfortable burn. $32 in Ontario.32.0 CAD per Bottle
