I’m tasting Superfine’s May 2021 pick. This is fantastic. Nothing offensive. Nothing off. Great nose. Great palate. Great finish. Perfect new crack for Father’s Day weekend. #DAD

This is wonderful. Rye, pie crust, and faintest berries on the nose. Loads of tart cherry on the palate, a bit of rye spice, nice balance. Probably a bit too hot still, in that I’d guess a little water would unlock more flavors. Finish is medium short, rye spice, alcohol burn, m faint cherry comes back very long after it’s already faded out.

Nothing offensive on this, but the extra toast covers a lot of the rye I expected. I wouldn’r have known it was a rye by the taste. That said, the nose is like caramelized sugar, mint, and oak. Probably bottled a little too hot for me, I get a slight oaky dryness through the palate and really short finish. Maybe I should’ve added a splash to release some flavor, but it’s too late.

This literally tastes like black tea. Like, maybe I’m getting punked and it’s just black tea in the bottle. After a few pours and over a month open, it’s starting to taste like rye mixed with black tea. But still, too much tea for me.

Nice rye spicy nose, rye spice on the palate upfront, then I get a brief funky flavor. Like mildewy grass. Then it turns to candy sweetness. Finish is pretty short, fading from candy to gone.

Raisins and oak on the nose. Alcohol and oak overwhelm the palate, I added some water and it opened up significantly. With a little water, caramel and oak on the plate. Short finish, starts with oak and dissipates quickly.

Really nice. Tons of candy on the nose. Cotton candy, caramel, oak, tobacco, slight spice on the palate. Finish is medium and candy with a little bitterness late on the palate that’s a turn off. Otherwise, it’s great.

Port is imperceptible on nose and palate. There’s no indication it’s a port finish on the bottle and I wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t. To be clear, I ordered the port finish online. There is some misaligned sweetness that I’m attributing to the port, but it is not harmonious with the rye. This is too young for me too. Grainy nose and palate. All that said, as a distillery focused on estate growth and production, I’m okay with it. From a value perspective, it’s not a deal, but I’ll support the cause.

Nice light fruit nose, candy on the palate, finish is short. Some sweetness fading to bitterness and quickly dissipating.

Lots of tobacco, coffee, more alcohol burn than I’d expect. Nothing offensive to me, but not my favorite flavors
