GlenDronach Revival 15 Year (2009-2015)
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed August 28, 2015 (edited November 26, 2016)Sherry bomb, no doubt. Clean and tons of flavour of sherry wine. Although I appreciate a good sherries whisky, which this is, it is almost too sweet. I did a side by side with glenfarclas 17 and prefer the farclas. Each to their own. It is worthy of your money however, so try it for yourself -
I bought this because of distillers rating and I wanted to be disappointed because of the whole "organic" label even though it's really young, over hyped perhaps/trendy? I have not had the benromach 10 year, so I cannot compare. This is a really tasty dram. Very well made and I have no complaints, it exceeded expectations. I would buy it again down the road. Worth a try. Smooth, vanilla, caramel, smooth.

Compass Box Great King St Artist's Blend
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed June 8, 2015 (edited February 5, 2017)A good quality blend can be as good as a single malt. This vs dalwhinnie 15. -
I like peat. Sometimes you want to feel like an outdoorsman. I feel like caol Ila tastes like a fruity tire, some dirt, and a day old bonfire. I like that. I prefer the illusion of peat. I Feel like laphroig and ardbeg are actually melting down the old tire and mixing it in the whisky, and if I hate myself enough I'll drink that instead...and you know what? I love that too.
