For me personally the same word came to mind every time I had this whisky. Boring. Smooth as hell and goes down like silk, maybe some honey in there....but does not challenge me at all. I don't get an experience with this whisky, and that's what it's all about.

I live in Alberta. I wanted to love this stuff. I know many great American ryes are sourced from here, but it just falls flat with me. I suppose for the price it's great, but that's it.

My expectations were just a little too high. With all the great marketing and hype ( the Irish pappy, etc.) this one just didn't live up. It's great stuff, probably deserves 4 stars but I'll knock one off for value.

Maybe it's just me, but I did not enjoy this bourbon. Too much burnt brown sugar/oak for me. I found it too thick and sweet. It's hot as well, but I don't mind that. Plenty of barrell proof bourbons I like way more (bookers, Noah's mill)
