For the price point, there is value here. Citrus notes on the nose. Salt and some iodine on the pallet with a healthy dose of peat and smoke. Lacking the full mouth feel of better quality spirit's, but still enough there to warrant a try.

Prominent vanilla and honey, with an underlying not of dried fruit and the slightest whispered of smoke. Oak is well developed. There is a healthy burn, but the dram is smooth and rounded overall. FINISH has an enduring and pleasant linger.

Peat, smoke and more peat pretty much sum this up. Young whiskey with no real cask character, but a wonderfully long finish.

Sweet, soft and smooth. Deep colour compared to most reposada, but still incredibly delicate and smooth.

Notes of honey and menthol, with wisps of vaqnilla. A slight bite at the finish, but overall a wonderful whiskey made very interesting by the ex bourbon casks.

The stout has done wonderful things for this go to spirit. Hints of chocolate and malt on the nose and a fuller, more rounded mouth feel make this an interesting delight.
  7. Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye

Vanilla, apricot and spearmint notes on the nose. On the pallet you get the spicInes of the rye with a firm alcohol burn. Not the most refined whiskey, but there is so much going on here. Great buy for the price point.

Note bad, reminds me a little of Irish. A little rough on the finish.

Nose of caramel and clove is lovely. Oily mouth feel, with a slight burn akin to the high proof. Medium finish, heavy with fall spices. I like this bourbon, but it loses me with the spice at the end.
