Probably shouldn't comment on a bourbon after drinking all night, but here we go. Been wanting to try this because apparently this is one of the few reasons to visit Alabama, and since I happen to live here, thought it would be nice to experience it. However the age statement has changed from 7 years to NAS. Don't know how the 7 year tastes so this isn't a comparison, simply a taste of the NAS. It's simple and smooth all the way. There is a burnt sugar sweetness with a very mild fruit taste, maybe cherry, with a very mild burn, especially for a 101 proof. Very smooth all the way, leaving you with a sweet mild burn at the end. For under $15 this has to still be a good reason to visit AL.14.99 USD per Bottle

Ezra Brooks 90 Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 18, 2019 (edited May 22, 2020)Need to update my previous taste. After putting it in the freezer nearly all the alcohol taste was removed. The only taste is vanilla and cherry with minimal alcohol burn. Very good. Will buy again. -
Ezra Brooks 90 Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 14, 2019 (edited May 22, 2020)When it first touches to your lips you taste sweet burnt sugar and cherry, very nice. When you swallow, it turns into aristocrat vodka, all you taste is cheap alcohol. However, on your lips your left a small taste of the sugar and cherry. Bottom line, it's under $15 so it's almost impossible to complain about this whiskey.13.99 USD per Bottle -
Evan Williams 1783 Bourbon (80 Proof)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 12, 2019 (edited December 23, 2020)I didn't want to try this one, I don't like black label at all and this is supposed to be the same recipe just aged longer. It tastes nothing like black label. The description on this site hits it exactly. Caramel and vanilla at first, then as you swallow, the spice hits and your left with a spicy caramel, vanilla taste that makes you want another sip. This bourbon is VERY good, and here in central AL. it's under $20.17.99 USD per Bottle -
My first time tasting 101 was 20 years ago from a bottle that had been in the back seat of a truck for more than a day. It was HOT. It burned so bad that was all I could taste. 20 years later I'm trying it again, frozen this time. Still a lot of heat, but it's from the rye. There is caramel and vanilla as well, with a nice spicy after taste. With ice I get a bit of chocolate with the after taste, and the initial rye burn is quieted a little. MUCH better this time around.

Knob Creek Small Batch Bourbon (NAS)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 31, 2019 (edited May 22, 2020)ITS GOOD. Tastes like a more complex version of Jim Black. For me however the 100 proof is to much. -
George Dickel No. 12
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed August 31, 2019 (edited May 22, 2020)Don't like Jack so wasn't excited about this one. Tasted like Jack at room timp, frozen however it was very sweet with a mild burn. The sweetness was a custard sweet. Very surprised, good for the price, I prefer a smokey or spicy flavor.
