Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed February 3, 2016 (edited April 24, 2018)First of all, delicious. Huge nutty, sherry nose. Full bodied, rich mouthfeel, very luscious. Plenty of sherry flavors throughout from the lengthy time spent in those barrels, slightly sweet cherry balanced with the tannin from the wood. -
Aberlour A'bunadh
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed February 3, 2016 (edited November 8, 2023)Butterscotch and sweetened nuts hit the nose immediately. Mostly smooth mouthfeel, some nice fruitiness in the mid palate. Just short of cloying. Slight burn on the finish that isn't unpleasant but warming. Notes from the sherry cask aging noticeable throughout. -
