Tastes

There are aromas of apricot, maple, caramel, and nutmeg. It is sweet on the tongue, with corn, vanilla, ripe banana, honey, and orange blossom. It is smooth and mellow and eminently drinkable.

Sherry, toffee, rotting fruit, and roses are key aromas of this dram. It is sweet vanilla initially on the tongue which fades to herbal bitterness on the finish. It also has notes of delicate sweet spices and oak. This is not an overly complex scotch but it’s enjoyable to drink.

Oak greets you immediately on the nose with vanilla afterwards. This is one spicy mama. The palate is a mix of oak and warm caramel. It is just so rich.

This has the typical bourbon aromas with oak and leather. The flavor is less typical. It is oaky and tannic with a pleasant spice and warmth. The supporting grains of rye and barley are also noticeable.

This is extremely grain-forward on the nose and tongue. It tastes very young. There is a corn sweetness. Simple.

This is a peaty, low-tide smelling dram. On the tongue, it has strong notes of peat smoke, charcoal, salt, and a tingling coolness and sweetness.

There are aromas of peat, hickory, ripe banana, pineapple, and oak. The taste is more delicate than the nose would incline. Smoke overlays everything lightly. It starts with a vanilla note and ends with a note of raw cacao. There is also a slight hint of burnt rubber.

New leather is strong on the nose with burnt sugar, sherry, resin, and pepper. There is a burst of that burnt sugar sweetness initially that gives way to strong peat, charcoal, brine, and cider vinegar.
