brown sugar, cocoa, and leather on the nose. beautiful deep red-brown color. explosion of spicy rye and alcohol in the mouth. viscous and warm. fruit and sweet grain develop with a long finish. opens up with a little ice and develops into a really satisfying drink.

I've had this in my cabinet since the later 1990s. Light floral nose and light yellow color. Light non-viscous body, sweet grain, fruit, and vanilla in the mouth. light peat. My tastes changed to smokier peatier scotches, hence why I still have this. Clean and easy to drink, a classic highland, but not particularly memorable.

light smoky nose and and pale yellow in color. peat smoke, sweet cereal grain, black tea, herbal grass, and light salt in the mouth. full body, coats the tongue without being overpowering. almost floral finish.

dark dark herbal green. anise and mint and sweetness on the nose. anise dominates on the palate, with mint and herbs and alcohol heat. coating oily mouthfeel. afertaste is long, sweet fading to dry, and then mint and stinging nettles leave a tingling sensation on lips and tongue. big big flavors. like all the St Georges products, this is quality, well made and inventive. may not work in some lighter cocktails, but this is my favorite absinthe. More monkey cowbell!

smoke oak peat and a full rich creamy cereal mouth with a hint of iodine. very balanced and rich whisky, very drinkable. Tasted this alongside a half dozen big name scotches, and it bested all but the Lagavulin. Nice surprise.
