Nose: sweet, oak/saw dust, mild fruitiness, a little floral Palate: smooth, light, toffee/caramel, mild spice, mild sweetness Finish: medium length, moderate spice, a little bit of sweetness and a little floral A little lighter and more delicate than most bourbons. There is still some enjoyable complexity though. A good sipper.

Nose: sweet, honey, a little fruity, very mild peat with a little bit of heather Palate: sweet, very mild peat, honey/toffee, mild oak spice Finish: medium length, mildly spicy, a little sweet, a little bit of oak. This is a very inexpensive blended scotch, but it is surprisingly complex. It does not have some of the typical off putting notes that are often found in cheap blends. Really enjoyable and something that I will definitely buy again.

Knob Creek 9 Year Single Barrel Reserve
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 9, 2019 (edited October 27, 2019)Nose: Vanilla, corn, oak spice, sweet, maple, cotton candy Palate: Alcohol heat is pretty intense. Thick mouthfeel, spicy, sweet, vanilla, maple syrup Finish: long finish, spicy, dry, sweet and vanilla A very well made and complex bourbon. While the alcohol heat is a little intense, it is still surprisingly smooth for 120 proof. A little bit of water tames the heat and still maintains most of the complexity. this particular bottle was barreled on 10/15/04 and bottled on 8/3/18. -

anCnoc 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 29, 2018 (edited January 25, 2020)Nose: sweet, ashy/soot, fruity Palate: smooth and thick mouthfeel, fruity, sweet, just a hint of the same ashy/soot that was on the nose Finish: medium long finish, malt, a little bit of spice, sweet, still a lingering of the ashy/soot note. A very unique scotch. Both smooth and complex. There is a flavor here I have not noticed in any of the other scotches I’ve had up to this point. It does not taste like peat but maybe it’s a different type of peat? Very pleasant and definitely worth trying and worth the price.
