Clynelish The Jazz Crescendo (2023 Special Release)
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 27, 2024ive had this bottle for the better part of 8 months and im so indifferent towards it. like the other review said, there are a lot of tropical flavours, hints of vanilla, a nice spice on the finish, and thats all great. my biggest complaint however is its nothing special. i dont feel like its a premium bottle. on the contrary its something i spent so much money on that when i forget how mediocre it actually tastes to me i give it another chance and hope it redeems itself. its too hot for my pallette so a drop of water really helps but i just think the flavours are average and could be found elsewhere for a much better price. i dont know, maybe im just not as sophisticated as scotchinghard (im definitely not) but i think for the average person, this isnt a good buy. its too expensive and doesnt satisfy the way i feel it should. had i bought it for 100$ less i wouldnt be as indifferent, however, there are so many excellent whiskeys out there these days and this one just does not keep me coming back. ill continue to pick away at the bottle here and there, but this will never be a consistent pour. lesson learned!175.0 USD per Bottle -
nose: strong butter with slight vanilla palate: the butter and vanilla carry over with hints of dried fruit and banana finish: leaves the mouth quite quickly with a slight bit of spice really solid whiskey, not offensive. nice to sip on and in comparison to the cask strength, not nearly as strong and potent. both are great whiskeys but i prefer this as a casual sipper100.0 CAD per Bottle
