The high-rye mash bill gives this an interesting malt character, and the deep char gives this the woodiness ryes fail to deliver. Really tasty.

My wife got me a nip of this for fun today, and I'm not disappointed. It's your typical sweet Jamie blend with a little earthiness added in from the IPA (NOT bitter, as I was anticipating). For two bucks, why not?

A little thin, a little weak, but this is also full of vanilla and totally drinkable. There's better stuff out there, but there's a place on the tray for daily drivers too.

Smokier than most ryes - not unlike a bourbon, making me wonder whether this was somehow blended - with a lot of biscuit flavors before clove and licorice take over. Complex mix of unusual, but complementary, rye notes.
