From the good people who bring you Rittenhouse Rye, we have this gem. I've had this recommended to me MANY times and finally hunted up a bottle. It doesn't disappoint, and for the price, how do you say no?

Doesn't hide the alcohol well enough here, and so is very abrasive up front. More woody than spicy as your mouth catches up (suggestive of a bourbon, rather than a rye). This one misses for me.

This is the EXIT9LIQUORS Distiller's Select edition (90.4 Proof) - perfectly enjoyable bourbon with some nice vanilla and pepper notes - nothing to write home about but it's not going to ruin your day either.

Back onto rye with this whopper - the spice notes are fighting the alcohol to come through with any real clarity. I think I prefer Rittenhouse.

A lot of smoke flitting around here, but it's also cloyingly sweet. I think I was expecting something more aggressive.
