I had this blind and was shocked at this was WT 101. I did care for the nose. Mostly ethanol. But the palate was great. Very well aged oak with a starchy taste like mashed potatoes. On the back palate you get strong rye spice that transitions into a moderate finish. This is a must have on the shelf. Good neat and stands up great in a cocktail. Do not overlook this bottle.

This was an OHLQ pick from Ohio. I really like these for the price. You get the classic banana on the nose and the palate I get with all Brown Forman products. There was also some mineral notes with this one. My biggest complaint is the proof which leads to a short finish. This would be so good at 100 proof or higher. Can wait for their new single barrels. I would buy this at 40 bucks or less in a heartbeat.

The nose on this bourbon is incredible. Rich butterscotch. Smells like a Carmel factory. The palate was not as good as the nose. It has a sweet oaky palate with a moderate finish. A little spice on the back of the palate. Worth trying. Would not run to buy.

This is ok. Not bad for the price. Would be a great introduction to bourbon. It smells like sweet tea. On the palate it is very light with strong corn notes. No finish to speak of. Would be good in summer. I don’t think it has the strength to stand up well in a cocktail. I would not buy this other than to have on a the shelf for someone trying bourbon neat for the first time.

This is pretty good. It’s got some heat for sure. Not much on the nose other than ethanol and caramel apple notes. A moderate long finish as you expect at this proof. On the palate it has mineral notes, leather, and hot cinnamon. Not as sweet as I expected for a Wheater. I think there are better barrel proof options but they can be hard to find. I don’t think anyone will be disappointed in this pour.

This has a delicious caramel nose. Does not taste as good as it smells. Some strong ethanol notes and a little harsh. A few more years in the barrel and this would be fantastic. Despite that a good solid pour with some leathery notes, tobacco, and mild sweetness. Moderate finish. I would buy it again.

Strong rye and grass notes on the nose. Very sweet with lemongrass and honey on the palate. Very light and easy to drink. A taste of “summer”
