Tastes

Sharp and young, pear apple sweetness on palate that gets overtaken by the bite. Nose is grain sweetness with pear. Medium rich into a nice tingly tail, but the burn and youth don't balance the sweetness well. I even think there's some light spice on the end.

Sherry aroma. Deep dark flavors. Tastes like some sort of darker fruit, like charries or plums. Perhaps it has a Sherry finish. The sweet leads into a tail that tastes to me medicinal? Deep, rich, and sweet. Honey there too, points for tasting original. great price too.

Very sweet aroma. Apples and grain. Very strong wood and grain flavor on the palate, maybe even peated? Stronger than most Japanese I've tried. Hits you hard, tastes a little young but is not at all unpleasant. love the wood bite. Tastes more like oak than the usual Japanese wood flavor.

Smells very sweet. Vanilla sweet. Clear taste, but one dimensional. I taste almost all vanilla, quick clean finish, kinda thin.

Smell is Rich and complex fruit. Maybe pear? Initially light wood, that slowly spreads into a deep grain that matches the burn perfectly. The grain taste is sweet too. Magnificent. Tastes old and settled.

Light flavor, mostly grain and wood, both on the nose and tongue. Has a good body despite light colors and flavors. Mellow, vanilla, develops beautifully into the tail. Tail lingers a while with vanilla sweetness. Too light for my taste, but very drinkable.

I can taste the strawberry from the component wine cask blend, and the heavy smoothness from the white oak component. Light and fruity, grain kick at the end. Honey, strawberries and a little peach. Wood flavor is not my favorite, as usual with Japanese whiskies, but it makes up for it elsewhere. Peach shows up more as a highball. Pretty interesting paired with smoked nuts, brings out the grain. Didn't care for it with milk chocolate or walnuts.

Smells rich and fruity. Sweet that melts into wood, followed by burn. The richness lets the burn spread, but it's still a little too much bite for me. I get peach up front, cherries at the end. Honey sweetness too. Very good.

Lacking body but good for the price. Easy vanilla flavor.

Sweet, grainy. Easy and approachable, nothing groundbreaking. But better than average
