Tastes

Medium rich, orange peel the predominant flavor. Nice subtle spice on the tail that goes with the citrus really nicely.

A single cask distillery exclusive where they put sake in a Bourbon barrel so they could let their single malt sit in it for 3 years. Big strong sweet kick to it, with a spice that runs underneath it all. Spice and richness pair well, and there's too many flavors for my knowledge level to even try to pick out. Love it though, unique.

Rich and strong, with sweet and oak first, cinnamon spice underneath. Reminds me of 101 or Weller 107. Very nice.

Medium rich, light fruit flavors with grain, and then smoke on the tail. Balance is good, nothing too aggressive.

Sweet and full-bodied, has a wonderful light sweetness that tastes to me like peaches. Maybe some honey on the tail too. I get wood on the nose. Tastes very Japanese, that fruit flavor is great.

Nice and sweet at first then a spice kick before the burn hits. Wonderfully strong. Slightly prefer the 116.

smells like Sherry, super sweet aroma. grain and fruit on the tongue, medium rich with a quick clean tail.

Basically just a thinner version of Kakubin with less flavor. Might do better in cocktails but not really necessary with Kaku at the same price.

Aggressive taste that's not at all unpleasant. Tastes flowery and grainy, burn compliments the forward flavors. Herbal medicinal flavor underneath the grain that's kinda cool. This flavor lingers into the tail. Flavors are unique, points for that.
