Pretty harsh and aggressive, but theres a good amount of spice that balances that out. Once you get used to the burn theres some caramel bourbon sweetness too. Not at all bad for the price, if you like bolder whiskies.

Alcohol overpowering, some grain in there, but not pleasant. Grain is sweet, but harsh.

Sweet on the nose with wood. Deep, rich flavors, oily, spreads around nicely. The flavor isn't groundbreaking but the richness really makes it nice. I taste a lot of banana. Wish the tail was a little stronger.

Light, thin, has that characteristic Japanese wood flavor that I think is cedar. Pretty light color too, seems young.

I'm not versed enough to know what flavors are present, but to me it tasted grassy and young. A little disappointing, especially for a distillery exclusive. Tasted at the Yoichi Nikka distillery in Hokkaido

A little light, some richness but not as much as I'd expect. Light almost fruity sweetness on the nose. Flavors are a little light though, the fruit and the wood go well together. Tail is kinda short, and has some spice kick to it. Still prefer the base pure malt.

Super light on the nose. Almost smells like sake to me. Very sweet. Sweet grain and fruit. This reminds me so much of sake from the Wakayama region. Light, but with enough richness to keep the burn away. Really good and unique, if maybe not my style.

Beautiful Amber color, deep grain sweetness on the nose. Heavy , deep and rich. Wonderful. Touch of saltiness. Grain and wood balance perfectly. Smoke comes after on the tail, is mostly underneath for the rest. Stunning. Tasted at the Nikka Yoichi distillery in Hokkaido, Japan.

Light and easy, minimal burn, sweet grain flavors forward. maybe some floral notes too? Rich enough for me despite the lightness, and the tail is a great length.
