Keeper's Heart 10 Year Single Malt Finished in Malaga Wine Casks
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed May 2, 2024I previously had Glenmorangie 12 yr Malaga cask finish single malt scotch few years ago and surprisingly, I personally prefer this bottle more. It’s light, very fruity yet delicate and delivers a great pour every time. I must procure more bottles and hold them for the future. Another excellent whiskey to my permanent bar experience has been found!93.99 USD per Bottle -
Smells good like a freshly laundered pillow cases with a hint of vanilla. Oaky notes are more present on second nosing. Nice butterscotch or browned butter wafts through. Rich waxy old timey caramel can be detected on the front of the palate which is quickly replaced by spicy oaky tingle at the back of the throat. Sizzles rather pleasantly as you gulp down. Spices slowly waft away leaving a great oily mouthfeel and a slight caramel notes are left behind. Really great bourbon at a comfortable range of pricing.54.99 USD per Bottle

It initially start soft with typical wheated bourbon nose, then suddenly it waft into almost like chocolate covered almond ball candies. That mingling of waxy milk chocolate note is unmistakable. The very first sip will give you a milk chocolate note of Hershey’s milk chocolate bars with its smooth creamy milk chocolate with a tinge of sourness that hugs your tastebuds. The nutty almond like flavors are only noticeable in the finish. The waxy mouthfeel begin in the mid palate and lingers in the finish for a minute or two. The oakiness is very slight and won’t hinder your journey at all. Almost unbelievably smooth and light, but at the same time it brings about a heavy rich flavor in the middle that melts away to the finish. It’s almost of a shame that this is a one time very limited release.49.99 USD per Bottle

Two Bitch Bourbon Small Batch with Bite
Bourbon — (bottled in) Nevada, USA
Reviewed September 17, 2022Toasty oak and slightly charred corn pottage notes on the nose. Taste starts off with vanilla, big oak character in the middle, then finishes with mix of corn biscuits and chocolate fudge. Medium finish at best with charred oak and maybe a little bit of apple wood & cardamom. Not too shabby, but a little over budget. Bottle size at 375ml75.0 USD per BottleSpirits & Spice | Las Vegas -
From the first whiff to first sip is all concentrated on that Armagnac cask, but in mid palate is where you find a bit of peanut note with a bit of Texan hug. At the finish is an unmistakable fruit note that at this current moment I think it’s a grape note that is combined with candied orange. It’s definitely a bit younger than I would have preferred and that’s why I couldn’t give it a perfect score, but the flavor is just so unique. If this is available readily near me, it’s a must stay on my bar at any time.59.99 USD per BottleTotal Wine & More

YAMATO TAKEDA SHINGEN EDITION
Other Whiskey — Japan
Reviewed November 8, 2021 (edited October 21, 2022)It smells like vanilla was forcefully injected into the whiskey somehow. On the palate, you could immediately taste the malt whisky; it doesn’t taste like any Japanese whisky I’ve ever tasted and I’ve had a few. Vanilla candy at the front of the palate with a bit spicy, minute pepper note in there that screams ‘Mizunara Oak!’ at the top of its lungs kind of note. Finish is very dismal, almost like drinking a Vanilla Coke with bit of water added in. It just immediately dissipate into nothingness. Cool bottle, but that’s the only positive thing about this bottle. I’ll finish it somehow and keep my other whiskies in the bottle for show.115.0 USD per BottleCostco Wholesale -
I saw this bottle originally in a Youtube video and was quite fascinated. Luckily, when I tracked it down in a local wine shop, they were selling it at a same price level as the original Cutty Sark. The aroma of the dram was the pinch hitter for me in my opinion. I got a burnt or crispy toast notes with a healthy dollop of honey and in between those notes, I've picked up a nutty and chocolate notes as well. The peat levels rise when tasting the dram. Got a whole lot of heathery peat kind of like Highland Park 12. The honey on the nose kind of evolves into this butterscotch character. Finish is medium at best with the toasty honey bread vibe that last a good 6 to 7 seconds before fading. I got to say one of my favorite blended scotch whisky of all time. I just really hope they can restock more soon.14.99 USD per Bottle

This is my first overproof rum and if every other bottle out there smells and taste like this one, I'm turned off for overproof rum for the rest of my life. No one should call this aroma, but a stench. The first thing comes to mind is burning tires or rubber take your pick. Then through that highly chemical note, you get a big whiff of mashed garlic or even little off mashed garlic. Through the alcohol cloud there is a hint of mashed banana faintly. In the beginning of the flavor, it feels like licking the inside of a burnt tire and biting down on heavily charred oak. The dry note from the oak is so strong here. Seriously on the finish is a rotting wood notes or fermenting veggie notes. Supremely disappointing experience for a supposed 'six year old pot still' rum. I'd use it as a people repellant or a punishment tool for my worst enemy.25.99 USD per Bottle

Ron Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva Rum
Aged Rum — Venezuela
Reviewed March 19, 2019 (edited September 10, 2019)Caramelized Flan comes to mind on the first whiff, while soft coconut notes and then the banana notes start to creep up behind the coconut with a slight minty herbal finish on the nose. On the palate, sweet caramel mix well into the almost hot chocolate like liquid that introduces the minty and cinnamon notes at the end that clears my sinuses. Finish is pretty short, but there is a hint of dark chocolate on the tongue that lasts a few seconds before fleeting. The finish is the shortcoming of this wonderfully well made rum, but overall my all time go to rum at the moment.34.99 USD per Bottle
