Tastes

It's bold and Texas style cowboy. Plenty of heat, leather and rough. The flavors of oak, smoke and leather play hard and edge out the florals, caramel and vanilla. The spice and heat are strong but not overpowering. Not bad but pricey and seems to need additional aging to mellow and blend flavors

Pleasantly surprised at the complexity of the bourbon. Has a coating, oily mouthfeel that I like. The nose is lacking much depth or statement, but the taste develops with a medium finish. The right amount of heat and pepper at the end that makes you nod your head and say ahhhhhh. With an ice ball it continues to develop and flavors emerge to keep the drink fresh and interesting. The price point makes it a sleeper by comparison.

The nose was average to slightly heavy oak. Had some floral notes but no distinct flavor. Nice mouthfeel but thick on oak and a sugary, smoky taste. No burn but no long taste either.

Nose is oaky and caramel but nice. The front is warm with oak notes and quickly mellows to the floral and vanilla. A longer satisfying finish that warms the heart. A bit pricey for the experience.

A typical tasting rye for me, medium heat and finish with a slight medicinal taste. Ho hum

Just a wonderful dram. Floral and warm caramel notes on the nose that prepares for the main event. Mouth feel is rich and creamy with more smooth orange and butter bread. A medium finish that warms and satisfies.

It has several above average notes but not anything exceptional. A smooth start and mouth feel with typical flavors, a nice long warmth and finish, again nothing harsh or bad but then not anything memorable. A solid mixing bourbon but I like mine neat

Solid single malt with heat and peat but not hot nor harsh. Flavor is smooth and lasts. It has the oily taste of turpentine that lingers long past the finish
