Reviewed May 19, 2023 (edited September 6, 2024)On the nose, coconut, burnt sugar, vanilla, and subtle maple syrup. Oily mouthfeel. Palate has notes of fresh sugarcane, more vanilla and maple syrup, and lots of baking spice on the finish – which is medium-length. 2.50/5.00 – Acceptable (neat) -

Reviewed March 3, 2023 (edited September 6, 2024)Rich butterscotch and vanilla dominate the nose, with undercurrents of nutmeg, brown banana, and cola. Mouthfeel is very rich and oily. Palate is quite sweet and shows notes of cinnamon, almond, and espresso, plus more vanilla and cola. Finish is relatively smooth, but on the shorter side. 2.75/5.00 – Decent (neat) -

Juniper, coriander, potting soil, and sage return on the palate, along with a rosy floral character. Long, smooth finish. 3.25/5.00 – Quite Good (neat) -
Woodford Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 13, 2023 (edited September 6, 2024)Notes of vanilla, clove, orange zest, brown sugar, walnut, and maple syrup on the nose. Mouthfeel is lightly tannic. Vanilla, walnut, and orange return on the palate, joined by cola, nutmeg, and resin. Heat is quite prominent on the midpalate before steadily tapering off toward the finish, which has nice length. 3.50/5.00 – Impressive (neat) -
The nose is somewhat restrained, but on close inspection shows honey, biscuit, dark cherry, oak spice, and orange pith. Mouthfeel is on the lighter side. All the same notes from the nose reappear on the palate – which is quite angular. Finish has some heat and is medium-long. 3.00/5.00 – Good (neat)

Reviewed December 20, 2022 (edited September 6, 2024)On the nose, a heady aroma of sour cherry of course predominates. This is accompanied by notes of bitter almond, dill, and sage. Very oily and rich mouthfeel. On the palate, more notes of sour cherry, bitter almond, and dill – plus hazelnut and herbes de Provence. Palate is quite sweet, though counterbalanced by some bitterness. Finish is medium-long and silky smooth, without any discernable heat. 3.25/5.00 – Quite Good (neat)
