Reviewed July 28, 2023 (edited September 6, 2024)On the nose, notes of caramel, black pepper, orange peel, and peanut. More peanut and orange on the palate, plus clove, coconut, and brown sugar. Relatively light mouthfeel, with a fairly short, dry finish. 2.75/5.00 – Decent (neat) -
On the nose, clove, pepper, vanilla, toasted coconut, and dried cherry. The pepper returns in force on the palate, accompanied by charred oak, lemon pith, honey, mint, and more toasted coconut. Medium-bodied in the mouth, with some heat on the midpalate, but smoother on the finish. Finishes fairly long. 3.50/5.00 – Impressive (neat)

Reviewed May 28, 2023 (edited September 6, 2024)Aromas of vanilla, dark chocolate, caramel, hazelnut, and toasted coconut. Fairly rich mouthfeel. On the palate, notes of cinnamon, more vanilla and toasted coconut, charred oak, and subtle pineapple. Some detectable heat on the nose, but little to none on the finish – which is on the longer side, though dominated by the charred oak. 3.25/5.00 – Quite Good (neat) -

Reviewed May 26, 2023 (edited September 6, 2024)Ripe aromas of tangerine and marmalade up front; plus walnut, baking spice, and grape jelly. Very rich, round mouthfeel. The palate shows more tangerine, marmalade, walnut, and grape jelly – is sweet without approaching oversweetness – and finishes medium-long with a mild and pleasant vegetal bitterness. A surprisingly competent sipper in its own right, and downright perfect in a cocktail. 3.50/5.00 – Impressive (neat) -

Palate is quite sweet and shows notes of cinnamon, almond, and espresso, plus more vanilla and cola. Finish is relatively smooth, but on the shorter side. 2.75/5.00 – Decent (neat) -

Woodford Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 13, 2023 (edited September 6, 2024)Notes of vanilla, clove, orange zest, brown sugar, walnut, and maple syrup on the nose. Mouthfeel is lightly tannic. Vanilla, walnut, and orange return on the palate, joined by cola, nutmeg, and resin. Heat is quite prominent on the midpalate before steadily tapering off toward the finish, which has nice length. 3.50/5.00 – Impressive (neat)
