Glenmorangie Nectar d'Or Sauternes Cask Finish
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 26, 2022One Note wonder. Up, peach, sweet and that's about it. My least favorite of the Glenmorangie line. -
Glenmorangie Lasanta Sherry Cask Finish 12 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 26, 2022Wow, totally different and superior to the 10. Slightly more smoke and a deeper caramel sherry sweetness. Some spice and warmth at the end. Rich and slightly oily. -
Glenmorangie The Original 10 Year
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed December 26, 2022 (edited January 5, 2023)Very light & enjoyable. Honey, peach, sweet candy, the lightest pepper & spice. Toasted nuttiness towards the finish and then it falls off a little too much. It's nice, but not great. -
Jack Daniel's Twice Barreled American Single Malt (2022 Release)

Elijah Craig 18 Year Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 25, 2022 (edited December 26, 2022)I believe that I've already reviewed. But I can't tell since my beloved friends at Distiller have really taken a huge step backwards with this App/site. I can no longer quickly see if I've reviewed or immediately see my review. Ugh, please fix I used to love this app. Anyway, I know I've had EC18 before and thought it was good, but nothing special. This time it was borderline magical. Deep Rich coconut, caramel and even some chocolate. Delicious -
Heaven's Door Double Barrel Whiskey
Blended American Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed December 10, 2022Candy Corn Aroma. Both literally & figuratively. Sweet corn but also the candy. A touch of spice and mint in the Aroma as well. Initial bitterness and oak gives way to a rush of sweetness. I get the young bourbon flavor here. More mint and a touch of menthol on the finish. Will be interesting to see what a few drops of water do as it's quite spicy and full out of the shoot. Aroma goes pine and mint with the water added. Wow, more oily full blast of spice now and cinnamon red hot. Definitely more complex and improved. I do have to say it has a Tennessee Whiskey note to it. Lincoln County process that I'm not a huge fan of. -
Classic bourbon Aroma of sweet candy caramel and a moment of spice. But very light. Early on the tongue it's almost oily. Finish is with some mint and menthol. Having said that the finish falls off quite a bit. Water kicks up the spice and finish. More menthol. I'd categorize this as a standard, off the shelf bourbon. Nothing to chase, but a nice bourbon to have in the glass. A touch too sweet and single note in my book
