Partida Reposado Tequila
Tequila Reposado — Tequila Valley, Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed February 18, 2021Taste brings to mind a honeydew drizzled with honey. It’s pleasant but underwhelming, sort of like how I imagine sex with a librarian would be. -
Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 16, 2021 (edited April 10, 2021)LE-23-6P. Remember this batch for it will live in infamy and go down in history...as the most disappointing Four Roses Single Barrel OF ALL TIME for me. But who are we kidding, no one gives a single f*ck about what I think, including me. So this won’t go down in history at all. In fact it will go down less than my Amish girlfriend. I digress. This isn’t bad at all, it’s just that most of the batches of 4RSB (we are on close terms, I can call it that) that have graced these supple complaining lips have been mostly excellent. This poor batch was cursed with an off-putting dill after taste. And not the good rye whiskey kind of dill either. The old pickle kind. It wasn’t the glassware either. I know because it was duly shattered after I smashed it upon the floor in outrage. Pay no attention to me sheepishly shuffling off to fetch a broom afterwards, it is the outrage that should be the focus. THE OUTRAGE! -
Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 15, 2021 (edited June 26, 2021)This definitely varies from batch to batch or maybe it’s just my mood. Well tonight my mood is caramel apples with warmth but as strong as it starts there isn’t much of a finish and is kind of disappointing. I know I’ve enjoyed this more in the past. Not just the pre-NAS past but in its current incarnation. Ah well, it’s still definitely a bang for your buck. -
This is a solid standard workhorse. Pleasant. Honey dipped heather. Great for shots. Not complex enough to sip while pondering the imponderables. Trust me I tried, I got nowhere. Well I did ponder....I pondered what to mix this whiskey with to create some wild party shooters for all the wild parties we aren’t allowed to have anymore because the government hates us.

Glenfiddich 12 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed February 13, 2021 (edited November 11, 2021)This is so timeless and has so much already written about it who cares what I have to say? Bottom line is you should drink this and discover if you like single malt scotch at all or if you’re just not there yet. It’s pretty much the flagship of all single malts. Well maybe glenlivet 12 May “hold my beer” on that statement, so ok, they can both share the certificate so there’s no slap-fighting. -
Glenfiddich Fire & Cane
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed February 12, 2021 (edited September 28, 2023)I love experiments like this. Turns out I also love scotch aged in rum barrels. Who woulda thought? Everyone. It turns out everyone who knows me would have thought that. I digress...try this! Drink half and save half for when your coolest friends come over so you can bring it out and feel cool too. -
Laird's Applejack
American Brandy — New Jersey, USA
Reviewed February 12, 2021 (edited June 27, 2023)A classic as far as apple brandy goes. It’s easy going, smooth, just enough charred wood sugars to keep it interesting neat but not so lofty that you can’t mix it half and half with ginger beer and drown in it without the fear of guilt or disappointing any of your highbrowed whiskey elitist friends.
