Ezra Brooks Distiller's Collection Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed September 30, 2022 (edited February 25, 2023)Some what sweet. Hints of caramel, oak and dried green apple. Very smooth and easy to drink. It’s 107 proof (53.5 abv) but goes down like 80 proof (40 abv). I’ll be buying this again. -
Laphroaig 10 Year
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed September 9, 2022 (edited September 26, 2022)This is a rather tame Islay Scotch. There’s plenty of smoke and peat so you know where it comes from but it’s not over powering. I also find herbal and floral notes with a bit of a sweet brine finish. It smells of leather and oak. I’m quite enjoying this pour. Most other Islay Scotch I have had to power my way through and didn’t really enjoy but this one is pleasant and enjoyable. -
Ardbeg Wee Beastie
Single Malt — Islay, Scotland
Reviewed November 26, 2021 (edited December 3, 2021)Unlike the 10 year old the smoke &peat do not overwhelm every other taste & smell. Yes it is the first thing to hit the nose and tongue however the aroma of cigar and leather come through. After the initial smoke assault I can find flavors of seaweed and trace amounts of sweetness. Perhaps Islay just isn’t for me -
