NOSE - Sticky marshmellow with caramel swirl. Has a slight savoriness that reminds me of a salted caramel. Some toasted leather notes. Little bit of sweet oak as well. PALATE - Some nuttiness, saltiness and caramel. Some vanilla notes with touches if typical cinnamon oak and leather. FINISH - Cinnamon oak leather and vanilla. Such a great classic finish.

All cinnamon roll with some raisins man this is as on the nose as it gets for not being flavored or finished. Some cinnamon and vanilla are there. FINISH - Some cinnamon vanilla oak and leather is there and all soft. Very nice dessert bourbon.

Jack Daniel's Twice Barreled Heritage Barrel Rye (2023 Release)
Rye — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed February 15, 2024NOSE - Vanilla, sweet butter, light and beachy, some light caramel and dulce de leche. Light staleness like a cuban cracker. PALATE - Not harsh up front, little bit of bitter herb and butteriness. Some soft notes of cinnamon and vanilla. Some soft oak and and leather. Nothing popping out. FINISH - Bitter oak and herb with more of the soft soft vanilla that makes it buttery. Not a lot of flavor in the finish. -
Nose - Fruit cake, light oak and toasted leather, cinnamon. Almost has this caramel, tobacco quality to it that makes it addicting to smell. where are you from? Palate - First sip has lots of cinnamon and barrel char. Second sip has some cherry notes followed by heavy amounts of bitter oak. Third sip brings some notes of caramel with a more subtle approach to the first sip, definitely one that is complex and needs to breathe. Finish - Finish is a lot of the nose weirdly, in a good way weird. Has that cinnamon, barrel char, caramel and tobacco thing going on. Very nice finish thats different than a typical stagg jr. Overall not my favorite stagg jr because it is quite harsh on the palate even after opening, but a very solid option.

Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed January 31, 2024Nose - Light sugar, cherry, very bright exotic fruit. Super clean and thin. The base is rye spice though, light but umpactful. Palate - Some sweetness. Rye and barrel spice are forward. Some light oakiness. For being light, it is chewy. Finish - Finish is the same as the palate. -
Nose - Lots of nut and butter. Theres lot of bright fruits here, almost like a bourbon charcuterie board. Lots of herbal pine notes. Theres some savory bakery notes too that add nicely. Palate - Off the rip, lots of barrel and vanilla. Theres small amounts of cinnamon and leather. Thinner but full in flavor. Finish - Lots of spice going down. Not harsh, but abundant and long. Very buttery as it settles.
-
Nose - Loads of cinnamon and deep, dark barrel char. Theres some sticky notes of caramel. Some stale leather comes through giving that classical bourbon scent. Palate - You got that classical bourbon taste here. Lots of vanilla, cinnamon, oak and leather. Nothing else jumping out, just a really good traditional bourbon.
