What a whisky! A noble, spirity nose with wood and heather, and a finely balanced palate of subtle sweetness, some brine, a hint of smoke, and a soft saltiness. The finish is so subtle but long, emphasizing the oceanic brininess and a bit of the sweetness. So much better than Oban 14. 1993 distilling year.

This is the old school bottle, different bottle design, at least 10 years open. Lovely mild but deep scents of cinnamon toast and dates. Palate has a rich, caramelized brown sugar and warming Caribbean spice flavor - very restrained though. Finish is buttery with just a bit of zing. That's the last taste, the end of an era.
