High West Yippee Ki-Yay (2019 Release)
Rye — USA
Reviewed December 17, 2019 (edited August 20, 2020)First sip was a bit harsh, but it quickly develops a well rounded vanilla and cinnamon sweetness with a long slow burn into the sunset.80.0 USD per Bottle -
High West Campfire (Discontinued)
Blended American Whiskey — (bottled in Utah), Multiple Countries
Reviewed December 15, 2019Well this certainly lives up to its name. The smoke is almost overwhelming which is too bad because the underlying flavor is actually quite nice. I don't think I would buy this again, but if you are into heavy smoked meat in your glass I suggest you give this a try. -
Eagle Rare 10 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 9, 2019 (edited December 26, 2019)I know there are huge Eagle fans out there, I am just not one of them. This is a nice sipper with a sweet introduction that takes a marked ethanol burn before calming down for a sweet finish. Ok for the price, but not too the hype the brand has built. -
Maker's Mark Wood Finishing Series 2019 RC6
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 6, 2019 (edited December 29, 2019)Wow. This is special. An amazing blend of brown sugar sweetness on the front with a slow burn to remind you it has chops at 104 proof. If you find this rarity buy it immediately. I promise you will thank me later!60.0 USD per Bottle -
Recognize first that this is a young distillery and their in house barrels are just that. This is extremely corn forward which is not a bad thing and brings some lovely sweetness. However, the youth brings with it a heavy alcohol burn. Better to enjoy over rocks, but I am excited to see how these age over time and if they keep that intense sweet corn flavor.

Nikka Coffey Grain Whisky
Single Grain — Japan
Reviewed November 29, 2019 (edited December 15, 2019)Very smooth and easy drinker with light sweetness. This is one that gets a little better after a few sips when the flavors of cinnamon and vanilla start to come through, but overall a bit of a let down on the hype of Japanese whisky. -
Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Chocolate Malted Rye Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed November 24, 2019 (edited December 29, 2019)The cocoa finish is what makes this special. Almost like taking a small spoon of cocoa powder and letting it dissolve in your mouth. Definitely more typical Woodford rye with a light spiciness. Not sure it is worth $150 a bottle, but it is definitely a nice sipper.130.0 USD per Bottle -
Woodford Reserve Straight Rye

Reviewed November 24, 2019 (edited January 10, 2020)Brotherhood of the Barrel Selection. Very smooth and sweet. Brown sugar sweetness with a smooth burn. Very light pepper for a rye. Overall this is a fantastic rye and one that I would highly recommend.
