Tastes

On the nose there's some unique scents. Apricots, oak, tobacco, and anise. On the palate it's delightfully smooth and sweet. The apricot comes through along with peppermint and brown sugar. At 91.2 proof it's a nice neat pour with a slow building, long, warm finish.

On the nose there's leather, cherry, char, and unmistakable ethanol. On the palate it's flavorful but the heat begins building immediately. It's rich with cherry and cocoa nibs, but while you're trying to take in these flavors the heat smacks you in the face and starts a very long finish. I'd say it definitely needs an ice cube to balance it out.

This particular bottle was act 9 scene 4. On the nose it's lovely. It reminds me of a very sweet communion or homemade wine with hints of apricot. On the palate it's thick and viscous. The port finish really comes through and you get the apricot note that you first sensed on the nose. The finish is long and building where you're reminded you're drinking a rye, but it's tempered with the sweetness. Overall I thought this was phenomenal.

On the nose it's HOT. Straight ethanol and red hots, almost overwhelmingly so. Over ice it develops more into char. On the palate, yep you guessed it, alcohol burn. There are hints of caramel and vanilla, but they are overtaken by the alcohol. At the end of the day, not a bad $30 bottle, but could use some refinement.

The nose is overwhelmingly oak and barrel char which is to be expected with a 17yr, but after letting it breathe I get sugar and nutmeg. It almost reminds me of sweet tea. On the palate it's gucci. It's ridiculously smooth. The balance of sweetness and age is perfect with the age and char tempering the brown sugar sweetness. Cinnamon comes through as you're admiring how sweet it is and remind you you're drinking bourbon. The finish is soft, but goes on for some time. This is a damn good pour, glad I opened it!

On the nose it's oaky, like alot more oaky than batch 1. But behind that oak there's a ton of vanilla, cherry, brown sugar, and cinnamon. On the palate it's a whole other experience. It's stupid smooth with a ton of mouth coating vanilla. At 114.8 proof you'd never know it on the first few sips. In addition to the vanilla bomb you get the perfect amount of spice with some hints of cherry syrup. The finish is long and memorable. This is quality juice!

The nose sweet and nutty with vanilla and cherry notes. On the palate it reminds me of a proofed down little book ch5. There's a nice rye spice burn with the mouth coating sweet cherry and vanilla I got on the nose. The finish is decently long as the spice builds. Overall very happy with this pour!

On the nose neat it's amazing. Brown sugar, caramel, marshmallows, and loads of vanilla. The palate is not quite what the nose leads you to believe, but reminds me a bit more like a barrel proof toasted barrel. It's sweet yet oaky, the proof is in a sweet spot at 121 with a nice spice. Finish is medium long. Overall great pour.

On the nose it's sweet, spicy, and a lot of cherry. On the palate it's smooth with a ton of cherry and Port wine flavor. The finish is slightly dry from the Port cask but quite good.

Caramel and corn on the nose. The palate is a lot of corn and grain, very earthy with ethanol on the nose. Finish is decent but with lingering corn. Not super impressed.
