Blanton's Gold Edition
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 28, 2021 (edited September 23, 2022)Green apple, honey, light oak on the nose. Noticeably sweeter than standard Blanton’s. The nose has a nice softness to it overall Palate is very sweet with more honey and oak. It coats your tongue in a unique way and is a sweeter, easier drinking bourbon compared to standard Blanton’s. Finish is also considerably sweeter with comparatively low burn at this proof. Typical Blanton’s had a bitterness on the finish that I don’t enjoy, but Blanton’s gold had no bitter notes at all. Overall, Blanton’s gold exceeded my expectations. While good, I believe regular Blanton’s bourbon is the most overrated bourbon there is. However, Blanton’s gold was considerably sweeter, softer, more well rounded, and had considerably less burn than its lower proof counterpart. I wouldn’t pay secondary prices for this bottle, but it’s worth trying at a bar or buying overseas if you have the chance. -

Kirkland Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Bourbon by Barton 1792
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed November 11, 2021 (edited March 27, 2022)It’s cheap and just okay. Decent amount of ethanol on nose and palate. I also swear I taste minty notes? Worth the price if you want decent mixer, but not great neat or on the rocks.25.0 USD per Bottle -
New Riff Kentucky Straight Bourbon Bottled In Bond
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 14, 2021 (edited December 4, 2021)Classic bourbon/vanilla notes with a short to medium finish. Very easy drinker in general with little burn. I purchased this at a steal for $25, but I think it is worth the $40 price I usually see it going for as well. New Riff is quickly becoming one of my favorites under $40, in line with BT. I can’t wait to try the SiB/rye expressions from New Riff.25.0 USD per Bottle -
Blanton's Original Single Barrel
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 11, 2021 (edited September 13, 2021)Nose is sweet with notes of caramel, tobacco, and toffee. Incredibly sweet and complex Palate is extremity rich with a velvety mouthfeel- easily the best part of this whiskey. Flavor profile is well-rounded with notes of caramel, tobacco, and faint green apple. The finish is moderate in length with a unique bitterness Blanton’s is a quality whiskey with solid flavors and complexity. However, it is not worth secondary prices at all. It’s worth 60-70 max, and it’s only even that much because of the cool bottle. Purchase this at retail or slightly above for a well-rounded drinker.71.0 USD per Bottle -
Blade and Bow Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 1, 2021 (edited September 17, 2021)Nose: moderate oak and some vanilla Palate: more oak and caramel, I think I get some chocolate as well? Finish is light with not much burn. This is a richer, more complex version of WSR in my mind. It is very sweet all around with a fair amount of richness. I think this bottle is worth it’s $50 price. If you like sweeter bourbon you won’t be disappointed. -
Cherry and vanilla on the nose. Medium rye spice flavor profile, with cinnamon and like smokiness as well. Average but pleasant finish. Overall, I think you would be hard pressed to find a better rye for the price. It’s nothing crazy, but it gets the job done in the $30 range. Sweeter ryes such as Willett are much better, but Sazerac is clearly meant to excel in cocktails. It’s not bad neat either. I consider this a quintessential rye.30.0 USD per Bottle

Wood Hat Spirits Bourbon Rubenesque
Bourbon — Missouri , USA
Reviewed August 30, 2021 (edited May 23, 2022)*I tried the BP, SiB expression* Nose: very yeasty, definitely because of the blue corn they use. Solid, unique nose. Palate: buttery and velvety with lots of typical bourbon notes. Great flavor all around. Comparable to ECBP. Finish: lingering with little burn This bottle isn’t cheap, but it’s a great pour that’s worth trying. It’s the best wood hat expression I’ve personally tried. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you enjoy rich, decadent flavors in your bourbon.
