Tastes

A hint of peppermint on the nose, with some more savory, herbal notes coming after. The palate is very earthy and vegetal, followed by an easygoing, smoky and relatively short finish.

Nose smells like grape and cherry, like lots of Buffalo Trace stuff. More cherry on the palate, with some apple and caramel coming to play as well. Hint of brown sugar too. A kick of spice starts off a pleasant finish that, for me, ends a little too soon.

Cherries and maple syrup on the nose. Palate is a bit herbal, with some sweet corn and nutmeg notes to balance it out. Nice long finish bringing some unexpected spice for a wheater.

Orange, lemon zest, and cereal grains on the nose. Tastes kind of like gummy candy. Sweet, a little sour, and kinda artificial. Short-ish finish of licorice and pear.

Nose of banana bread, white pepper, and lemon zest. Palate is underwhelming, with some dark bread notes, but the finish is nice and bold, with notes of pear, mint, and nutmeg.

Very sweet nose, with strong vanilla and cherry notes. So much vanilla on the palate. Spectacularly easy-drinking. Finish is a little short, thanks to the low proof, but is oaky and sweet. Does it deserve the hype? Yes if you can get it close to MSRP, no for what most places charge for it.

Lots of grapes on the nose, thanks to the port finish. Some green apple and a hint of cranberry too. The fruity-ness continues into the palate, but to a lesser extent, with some oily, vegetal notes coming to play as well. Finish has an unexpected punch, but nothing too crazy, with far more savory notes of corn and a twinge of mint.

Nose has some grape notes rounded out by candied apples. Palate isn’t as sweet as other Angels Envy expressions, but it has an interesting tang from the port. Finish is long and sweet, but packs a punch thanks to the higher proof. Hands down my favorite out of the regular Angels Envy lineup.

Notes of lemon and pepper on the nose. Baking spice and orange on the palate. Medium finish with notes of black pepper and charcoal smoke.

Nose is pretty nutty, like a lot of Elijah Craig offerings, but ends on a note of strawberry and oats. Palate is way spicier than you’d expect from the nose. Lots of nuts and oak, finished out with rye spice. Medium-long finish, with notes of banana and black pepper.
