Tastes

Glad I got this on closeout because it was not worth the $150 it retails for. It has many of the flavors I associate with a good Canadian whisky but I can get those for so much less. So while it is good, i was glad to share it with friends. 3.75 on flavor, 2 for value with a little more weight to flavor because I knew what I was getting into.

The fruitiness was nice but it always ended with a musty finish which I wasn't a fan of. Worked well enough for making Manhattans and black Manhattans though.

This was the funkiest rye I'd ever had. Over time (about a year) it mellowed out to the more usual rye grain notes.

Cinnamon Teddy Grahams on the nose. Carmel apple on the taste.

Rum influence is super heavy, first nosing could almost mistake as a rum. Taste is pretty ethenol forward with vanilla and maple but the rum finish shows up. Worked pretty well for a group where rum is preferred over whiskey.
